A vibrant Chichester Choir, light hearted and seriously good

COVID UPDATE (August 2021)
Chichester choirs are not currently running and our plan is to return to meeting together in the Autumn term 2021. Check back soon for more information as we are making plans.

Big Notes Choir Chichester is a community choir for adults made up of music lovers of different ages and stages. We normally meet on Thursday evenings and enjoy singing all sorts of music from classical to pop and everything in between. Our choir encompasses experienced singers who have been in choirs before and novices finding out what kind of sound they can make! Each session includes a wine break as an opportunity to form new friendships. We use sheet music for around half of the music we explore, some people read it well and some not at all and we provide learning tracks for a lot of our repertoire so you can sing along at home. **Visit our Facebook page for up to date news.**
Booking for each term is through the Little Notes booking widget below, but if you'd like to pop along to give it a try, just drop us a line by email or via Facebook.
Did you know we also run
Big Notes Choir Horsham?
and do check out our
***NEW Chichester Children's Choir*** that meets at Pallant House Gallery on a Thursday night.
'Big Notes Choir Chichester' is operated by Little Notes Horsham Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 6742765.

Mark Bradbury, BMus (hons), LRAM

Mark lives in Horsham with Lou and their three spirited young daughters. Growing up in the Midlands, Mark’s musicality was clear. He learned to play the flute and guitar and discovered his love for singing. Mark began his musical training with the legendary baritone John Cameron in Manchester and a scholarship to study singing at The Royal Academy of Music followed. Theatre always played a big part in Mark’s life. As a performer, he always felt most at-home on the Operatic stage. Mark sang with Glyndebourne Opera for 10 years and learnt so many of his workshop leading skills in the awsome Glyndebourne Education Department. He joined the Glyndebourne Chorus in 1999 and sang with the company for many years. He made his solo Glyndebourne debut at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in 2001 singing Bartholomew/ The Last Supper (Birtwistle). Other operatic roles include Parpignol/ La Boheme (RAH Raymond Gubbay), Arbace/ Idomeneo, Acis/ Acis and Galatea, Monostatos/ Die Zauberflote. Chorally, Mark enjoys singing with The Academy of Ancient Music, Gabrieli Consort and Choir of the Age of enlightenment. As a founder member of European Voices, under Sir Simon Rattle, he sang with the OAE and Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra in Berlin and Salzburg in Les Boreades (Rameaux), Peter Grimes (Britten), and Wonderful Town (Bernstein). Extensive work as a soloist on the concert platform has included Bach’s Christmas Oratorio (RAM for Classic FM), Mozart’s  Mass in C (QEH), Bach’s St John Passion (St John’s Chapel, Cambridge), Vaughan Williams Serenade to Music, Britten’s St Nicholas, Vaughan Williams On Wenlock Edge and Beethoven’s 9th Symphony. Mark runs SongBuilders who offer creative singing and songwriting workshops including their Build an Opera summer courses at Chesworth Farm in Horsham, Little Notes Choir and is a founder/ director of Little Notes.

Christopher Hussey is Mark’s regular right-hand man in Chichester and is at the piano most weeks during rehearsals and performances. Chris is a composer, arranger, pianist and workshop leader and is therefore more than equipped to be a musical backbone to the choir.

"Big Notes choir is brilliant - I'd urge anyone to come and have a go! Few of us knew each other when the choir first started but the wine break halfway through is an excellent way to make new friends! I've loved making music with them and our recent concert was amazing - we sounded great. Highly recommended way to spend a Tuesday evening."
